Guwahati: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) report on the anti-India activities by one Pakistani national and his associates has unearthed a “cartel” working to defame the development processes of India and it also shows the involvement of the British wife of an MP, said CM
Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday.
However, he did not take any name.
He added that the report, which was submitted by the SIT on Sept 10, will be released in public domain after the cabinet discusses it.
Speaking to the reporters, Sarma said, “This is a very explosive report of 96 pages. We recovered many important documents related to the sovereignty of our country. In that entire cartel, one Pakistani citizen and the British wife of the MP have played a big role.”
He added that the cabinet will discuss the report once the BTC polls are over. BJP in a press communiqué said the report of the SIT has legally and factually “established that Congress’ state president and Deputy Leader of Opposition Lok Sabha, Gaurav Gogoi, and his family have direct links with Pakistan's ISI and are involved in anti-India activities.”
Spokesperson Jayanta Kumar Goswami in the statement alleged, “On Wednesday, the SIT completed its investigation regarding the alleged Pakistan connection of Assam Pradesh Congress President Gaurav Gogoi and submitted a report to the Chief Minister, revealing that he and his wife are engaged in a major conspiracy aimed at weakening the sovereignty of India. The SIT report also proved their involvement in anti-India activities alongside a Pakistani national named Ali Tauqeer Sheikh.”
Meanwhile, Gaurav Gogoi criticised the CM for allegedly making a mockery of his chair with his actions and said he felt sorry for him. He alleged that the CM's words have lost all credibility.
