Citizens’ feedback drive under Swachh Bharat Mission witnesses 12k participants
Hubballi: The Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation launched Citizen Feedback-2026 under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban campaign in Hubballi to improve sanitation and municipal services, allowing the public to share opinions by scanning a QR code.The campaign was directly monitored by Swachh Sarvekshan officials. Around 12,000 citizens expressed their opinion, against an expected participation of 1 lakh people from the twin cities. The campaign was expected to play an important role in beautifying the Hubballi-Dharwad twin cities.The campaign, which just started, was part of the Swachh Sarvekshan and carried 300 points. Points were awarded for positive feedback and deducted for negative feedback, and the cleanliness performance of the twin cities was revealed through this. Participants had to enter their mobile number and provide several pieces of information immediately after scanning the QR code, following which a questionnaire opened and the public had to answer the questions. Based on the information provided by citizens, the corporation was able to assess the cleanliness and sanitation measures taken in the twin cities.Santosh Yarangalli, executive engineer, HDMC's solid waste management department, told TOI that Citizen Feedback-2026 is part of the Swachh Bharat Mission campaign and is being promoted and public awareness is being created to get more people to participate. The aim is to get full marks in the Swachh Sarvekshan. It will be decided on the opinion of the public. The campaign is divided into three age groups. 20-35 age of 40,000 citizens, 35-60 age of 30,000- citizens and 60 above age of 30,000 citizens have to participate. Corporation is creating awareness about this in order to get full marks.He said that more than 12,000 people have already participated and expressed their opinions. Since this is being directly managed by the Swachh Sarvekshan officials, everything is done transparently, Yarangalli added.
