Engineering student found hanging in his Ballari PG room

Ballari: A 24-year-old engineering student was found dead under suspicious circumstances in his paying guest accommodation here on Tuesday, with his family alleging foul play after injuries were found on his body.

Police identified the deceased as Vishwanath, a resident of T Rampur village in Siruguppa taluk. He was pursuing engineering at a college in Ballari and was staying in a PG facility at Ashok Nagar.

His body was found hanging inside his room on Tuesday. The student sustained serious injuries to his head and chest, leading his family to suspect that he was murdered.

Preliminary information suggests that Vishwanath had an altercation with his PG roommates on Monday. However, police said the exact cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.

Kaul Bazaar police visited the spot, registered a case and launched an investigation.
