MP trophy sports fest grand finale on Feb 26, 27

Dharwad: The grand finale of the Dharwad MP Trophy Sports Festival will be held on Feb 26 and 27 at Karnatak College Grounds here. The sports festival is being organised by Union minister and Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi with the objective of identifying and honouring sports talent from all assembly segments within the Dharwad Lok Sabha constituency. The initiative is in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote sports and nurture young talent. Leader of the opposition in the legislative council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, performed the bhoomi puja for the sports festival arena on Tuesday. Narayanaswamy said that the event, inspired by the PM's vision, has evolved into a youth movement by providing a platform for budding sportspersons to showcase their abilities. He noted that initiatives such as Khelo India and Fit India Movement have created greater awareness about sports and fitness across the country.
