HYDERABAD: A 14-month-old girl who went missing on Thursday morning from the huts of labourers working at

, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the afternoon in a nearby sump.
Ramgopalpet police said Akshara was playing with other children near a group of huts, where the labourers live. Based on the complaint given by her father

, a kidnap case was registered. Police conducted extensive searches for the girl. They found her, dead, in a nearby sump.
Earlier, one of the children in the locality alerted the victim's parents that some unknown persons had taken the girl away. During investigation, police ruled out the angle of kidnap by verifying

footage. "We are verifying whether it is an accidental death or if there is any foul play," police said.
