The income tax department's benami prohibition unit (BPU) has issued orders for the provisional attachment of two high-end cars allegedly held by casino gambler Chikoti Praveen in a 'benamidar' company.

The tax department alleged that the benamidar is a prominent furniture firm in the city, reports U Sudhakar Reddy.

After serving notices, the BPU issued two provisional attachment orders alleging that Chikoti is the 'beneficial owner' of the car though it was registered in an unrelated company's name located in Secunderabad.
