HYDERABAD: Salar Jung Museum will celebrate the 117th birth anniversary of Salar Jung-III, Mir Yousuf Ali Khan, with a six-day function from December 19.

HYDERABAD: Salar Jung Museum will celebrate the 117th birth anniversary of Salar Jung-III, Mir Yousuf Ali Khan, with a six-day function from December 19.
The function will be inaugurated by Mayor T Krishna Reddy. The mayor will give away ‘Best Worker Award’ from class III & IV workers of the museum apart from giving ‘children educational award’ to meritorious children of the museum’s staff on the inaugural day.

This year’s celebrations also mark the Golden Jubilee year of the museum.
The museum staff will also organise a special visit for the disabled on Dec. 20. On December 21, Nawab Mouzam Hussain will deliver the first Salar Jung memorial lecture at 3.30 pm followed by a ‘mushaira’ and ‘kavi sammelan’. The museum and the CISF staff will present cultural programmes on December 22. On Dec. 23, the second Salar Jung memorial lecture will be delivered. Principal Accountant-General of Andhra Pradesh M S Shekhavat will give away prizes to the winners of competitions on Dec. 24.
