One held in Dewas fair murder case

Indore: Dewas police on Monday arrested a man in Udaynagar fair murder case.The man, Gorelal Chauhan, a resident of Imlipura, was arrested near Sendhwa while attempting to flee to Maharashtra, where he planned to work as a laborer to evade arrest.Police said the murder was motivated by a desire to avenge the death of Chauhan’s close friend, Sumit. Months ago, a fatal dispute had occurred over dancing at a wedding ceremony in Udaynagar, resulting in Sumit’s murder.Chauhan had accompanied Sumit to the wedding, the deceased’s family repeatedly blamed him for the incident.Pressured by continuous accusations from his friend’s family, Chauhan allegedly plotted to avenge the death and clear his name, Udaynagar police station in-charge Vijendra Singh Solanki said.
