Indore: A young woman injured in the tragic truck accident on Airport Road, identified as Sanskriti Verma, was airlifted to Mumbai for specialised surgery on Saturday.The decision to airlift Sanskriti was made following direct instructions from Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav. She was flown to Bombay Hospital, where she will undergo a critical operation to address the complications from her injuries. A team of doctors accompanied her on the flight.Sanskriti, a resident of Sangam Nagar, received treatment at Bhandari Hospital since the accident on Monday, September 15. Although she already underwent surgery on her arm, doctors grew concerned over the risk of infection and recommended her transfer to a specialised facility in Mumbai.Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya claimed to have requested the CM to airlift the victim for further treatment. The Chief Minister, who previously visited Sanskriti at the hospital to inquire about her condition, acted on the request, ensuring she received the necessary advanced care.The accident on the evening of September 15 involved a speeding truck that allegedly crushed at least 15 people between Ramchandra Nagar and Bada Ganpati Square. The incident resulted in the death of three people so far and left 12 others injured. The truck driver, Gulsher, and his cleaner, Shankar, were reportedly under the influence of alcohol. After hitting a person, the cleaner fled, but the driver continued to drive for a kilometre, causing further chaos and a subsequent fire. Following the incident, the Chief Minister ordered strict action against responsible officials, including the DCP Traffic, ACP, and TI.
