Two Covid patients die in two separate road mishaps in Raj
The official said, “Since they died in road accident, their deaths have not been included in Covid-19 death.”
Eleven persons were tested positive for Covid-19 in 24 hours, taking the active cases tally to 20 in the state. Out of 11, seven were found infected with the virus in Jaipur, while one case each was found in Alwar, Dausa, Kota and Sawai Madhopur.
The active cases in Jaipur rose to 10 with seven more persons tested positive in the city. The health department has started collecting more samples for Covid-19 test. In 24 hours, 722 samples were collected in the state. Earlier, the samples were being collected in the range of 100 to 400.
Since Covid-19 cases have resurfaced in the state, the government hospitals have created separate wards for the Covid-19 patients. The hospitals are conducting tests of patients admitted to the hospital for Covid-19. They have been directed to conduct tests of patients with influenza-like illness and if they test positive for Covid-19, they will be admitted to the hospital's ward for Covid-19 treatment.
The health department is alert after receiving Centre’s letter on a new sub-variant of Covid JN.1 which has been found in the states of Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi and Goa.
3 persons test positive for Covid-19 in Bengal
Three individuals, including a six-month-old baby, have tested positive for COVID-19 in West Bengal. It is uncertain if they have the new JN.1 strain. The baby from Bihar is being treated at MCHK, while the other two are in private hospitals. They tested positive after experiencing high fever, cough, and cold. The West Bengal Health Department is monitoring the situation and continuing surveillance for ILI and SARI cases.
Three, including infant, test positive for Covid in state
Three persons were found infected with Covid-19 in the state on Thursday. One of them is a one-month-old infant, already undergoing treatment at JK Lon Hospital in Jaipur. A 43-year-old, resident of Jhunjhunu, who was undergoing treatment at Sawai Man Singh Hospital for other disease has also been tested positive for Covid-19. Another person from Dausa was tested positive for the virus. In the past two days, five persons have been found infected with Covid-19.
