NEW DELHI: Amid the intense cold wave in Jammu region, the committed women personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) continue their vigilant watch along the International Border with Pakistan.
Despite the challenges posed by heavy snowfall and the severe drop in temperature, these brave jawans remain on high alert, ensuring the security of the nation's frontiers.
The harsh weather conditions, intense cold and thick fog, have added layers of difficulty to their duty.
Nonetheless, the soldiers stand firm, their commitment unwavering as they continue their 24x7 vigilance.
"I like to tell the countrymen they are safe at their homes as we guard the border. I extend New Year greetings to the entire country. BSF and the country are my family, and I am happy to serve here," a woman BSF personnel said.
Further emphasizing the severity of the cold wave, the surface of Dal Lake in Srinagar has turned into a frozen expanse, with the minimum temperature plunging to a chilling -2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
