Jamshedpur: Officials of the East Singhbhum district administration on Tuesday made random visits to the examination centres where monthly assessments were being held at government schools.

Other officials like ADM (law and order) Nand Kishore Lal, SDO (Dhalbhum) Piyush Sinha, SDO (Ghatshila) Satyaveer Razak, block development officers (BDOs) and circle officers (COs) also conducted inspections to ensure free and fair exams.
Moreover, magistrates were deployed at all 149 examination centres, where Classes 9 and 10 students are appearing for their exams. The examinations, which started on Monday, will conclude on Wednesday.
Notably, DC Jadhav has taken the initiative of organising monthly evaluations for the secondary class students earlier this year to improve their knowledge levels and to mentally prepare them for the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) Class 10 board that is held in March every year.
The DC had said the exams should be conducted with strictness again after finding out the exams held in September and October did not deliver desired results.
DC Jadhav also found that the students’ attendance was poor or they wrote incomplete answers, while some were not sincere in writing the papers. Subsequently, 149 centres were set up in the district to conduct the three-day exams.
Jadhav said, “The appraisal of the teachers and the block elementary education officers will be linked to the performance of the students in the monthly assessment examination.”
Notably, in the JAC 2022 JAC Class 10 exam, 94.85% of the students from the district passed.
