Kanpur: The Commissionerate Police has sought details from Kanpur Development Authority, Kanpur Municipal Corporation and basic education department regarding the ownership of a land on which the office and madrassa of Dawat-e-Islami is functional in Colonelganj’s Chhote Miya Ka Hata.
Headquartered in Pakistan, Dawat-e-Islami (DeI) came under the scanner recently after one of the two accused arrested for the Udaipur terror act confessed to have been in touch with the outfit leaders across the border.
The
National Investigation Agency (NIA) probing the Udaipur killing, is also looking into the possibilities of the sensational crime being orchestrated by the handlers associated with the outfit in Pakistan.
The organization has a four-storey building in Colonelganj’s Chhote Miyan Ka Hata, in which the organization claims to run an office and madrassa.
Earlier, there were two municipal corporation schools. The building was erected after the land was acquired allegedly through fraudulent means.
On one such anonymous complaint, ACP Colonelganj Tripurari Pandey has initiated investigation.
In the complaint letter sent to the ACP through post on Thursday, it has been said that two municipal corporation schools were operational in Chhote Miyan Ka Hata of Colonelganj, where children of the locality used to pursue study from class Ist to class Vth. One school was known as New primary school Beconganj and the other school was known as Basic Primary School Municipal Corporation. Both the schools were closed about six years ago. Both the schools were built in an area of 800 square yards, the letter stated further.
The ACP said he has written a letter to the Municipal Corporation, KDA and basic education department in this regard, asking for the detailed investigation report.
Official sources informed TOI, “It also came to fore that a suit has been filed in the court regarding the schools of the municipal corporation. In this basic education officer vs Mohd Arif is sub-judice in the court.”
In-charge of municipal corporation property department, Anirudh Singh said that the matter regarding activities of Dawat-e-Islami on the land has come to the fore. The facts will be apprised to the higher authorities after getting it thoroughly investigated.
Meanwhile, ACP Tripurari Pandey further said, “An investigation has been launched on the basis of an anonymous complaint letter about whether the building of the Pakistani organization is built on the school land or not. Further action will be taken once the things are factually corroborated.”
