Church says its stand proven right

Kottayam: The stance of Christian managements that the Supreme Court verdict favouring NSS in the disabled teachers' appointment case should also apply to them was proven correct, said Yuhanon Mar Diascoros Metropolitan, head of Malankara Orthodox Church media department.He welcomed govt's willingness to accept that the favourable ruling for NSS was applicable to all. He remarked that this was wisdom coming late, as they made the same demand to the govt for a year. The govt's previous position was that the managements did not take necessary action at that time. While there was a swift decision to extend the operating hours of bars, disabled candidates and their families waited long for a justified demand, he said. TNN
