Moving bike catches fire in Kochi, rider injured

Kochi: A moving bike caught fire on Kollamparambil Road near Deshabhimani Junction in Kochi on Monday night, leaving the rider with minor burn injuries.Jibin of Pachakkad in Idukki sustained minor burns on his right hand, according to Gandhinagar fire force officials. The incident occurred around 9pm. While riding, Jibin heard a loud thud from the bike and the vehicle suddenly caught fire. He stopped the vehicle abruptly and ran away from the spot. Soon the fire engulfed the vehicle and spread to a nearby electric pole, causing the cables to burn.The fire was extinguished by a team from Gandhinagar fire station. Following the incident, the electricity connection in the area was disrupted. Fire officials said the cause of the fire was unknown.
