KOLKATA: Minister of women and child development and social welfare Dr Sashi Panja on Thursday felt "proud and privileged" while presenting the "Teacher with a Heart" initiative awards at Manovikas Kendra.
The awards ceremony instituted by Monochetna Academic and Research Centre (MARC) was held to honour those teachers who helped children with learning difficulties to blend into mainstream schools.
As many as 20 teachers from schools like Lakshmipat Singhania Academy, Birla High School, Aksharl, Calcutta International School, The Heritage, Shri Shikshayatan, Indus Valley World School, Union Chapel, La Martiniere for Boys and TIGPS, Chinsurah among others were felicitated with a citation and a trophy for their role in nurturing, inspiring and motivating children .

Ananya Chakraborti, former pro VC of Calcutta University professor Bharati Ray, veteran actor
Barun Chanda and Sarva Shiksha Mission chairman Kartik Mannam.
