Undergoing bouts of depression and other ailments, Akash Sharma, a corporate employee from Bengaluru, is camping on the banks of Sangam to take the benefit of free pranic healing sessions that cleanse and energise the patient's bioplasmic body with prana or vital energy.

Sharma is among 500 people who have so far availed the free services at the Sector 15 camp. In simple terms, pranic healing is a holistic healing method that uses the idea of life force energy, or prana, to balance and cleanse the body's energy.

Shubham Jaiswal, trustee of Yoga Vidya Pranic Healing Foundation Trust UP and coordinator of Pranic Maha Kumbh project, said it can be used to treat a variety of issues, including physical ailments, emotional distress, and mental fog. The camp will remain till Feb 25.

Led by Vishal Jaiswal, Prasoon Sahi, Preeti Gupta, Pradeepta Ganguly, M N Ganguly and other pranic healers, the sessions comprise an inspiring blend of sacred rituals, enlightening workshops and enriching social interactions, reflecting the event's core essence. The session begins with a bath in the Ganga, followed by super brain yoga, pranayama and twin heart meditation.
