Mathura winUP FencingTrophy ’24

Lucknow: Mathura bagged the winner's trophy in the Uttar Pradesh State Fencing Championship-2024 in the junior boys and senior women categories. In the junior girls category, Lucknow emerged as the winner, while Jaunpur came second. Gorakhpur won in the junior boys category and Gorakhpur in the senior men category.
The two-day competition was held at Central Public School, Ashiana under the aegis of Uttar Pradesh Fencing Association. Secretary of the association Pal said that players from 17 districts participated in the competition. Archita Singh from Lucknow, Karan Chaudhary and Sonia from Mathura won double gold medals.
Archita Singh of Lucknow won the gold medal in the senior women's foil event. Priyanka Pandey of Mathura won silver and Shikha Singh and Julie Devi of Barabanki won bronze. In Senior Women's Epee, Sneha of Jaunpur won Gold, Kirti Gupta of Pratapgarh won Silver and Geetika Rana and A Ikaram of Kanpur won Bronze. In senior women's sabre, Sonia Bainsla of Mathura won gold, Khushi Shukla of Kanpur won silver and Radhika Pal and Babita Patel of Pratapgarh won bronze medals.
