Visually-impaired students join doctors to heal through music
Lucknow: Visually impaired students and doctors performed together and won hearts with their soulful voices at ‘Charasaaz' organised jointly by Bandhni Foundation and Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya at Kala Mandappam on Sunday.
The programme began with devotional songs by Sonal Srivastava, Sheeba Singh and Divyanshu Mishra, students of BSV.
The first performance was given by Swara Chandra (11) who sang ‘tune o rangeele kaisa jaadu kiya' while visually impaired music teacher Ankit Srivastava (33) who came from Kanpur sung ‘Laga Chunari mein daag' and ‘Laal ishq'.
Dr Anand Ojha captivated the audience and sang ‘Aaj mausam bada beimaan hai'.
Dr Ashish Mathur sang ‘Chandan sa badan' and ‘tere mere sapne'. Organiser of the event Sudha Bajpai said, "Just like doctors, music also heals. The main motive of this programme is to give a platform to the specially-abled people so that they do not feel that they are less than anyone."
The chief guest on the occasion was MLC Pawan Singh. Vice chancellor of Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyala Prof Mandavi Singh and registrar of the university Shrishti Dhawan Rathod were present on the occasion.
