Blue ration cards row: Cong to stage protest

Ludhiana: Congress party on Sunday opened a front against the Aam Admi Part (AAP) government on issues of cancelling blue ration cards and imposing development tax on pensioners. Addressing the media persons at Circuit House on Sunday, Congress leaders, including district president Sanjay Talwar and Lok Sabha MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, warned of a massive protest on June 27.Talwar said, “More than 45,000 blue ration cards of beneficiaries — most of which are supporters of Congress party — of Ludhiana have been cancelled by AAP.” Bittu said, “All schemes launched during our government’s tenure are being scrapped on one pretext or another, the blue ration cards being one of them. Their leaders are making false claims such as smart city projects in Ludhiana are brainchild of the AAP government. I want to clarify that all these projects were already in progress since 2015..” tnn
