College of Veterinary Science aces Gadvasu athletics meet

Ludhiana: The 17th Athletics Meet of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (Gadvasu) kicked off on PAU athletic track on Wednesday, showcasing the talents of students and staff. The meet began with an oath-taking ceremony led by Dr Alam Brar, a senior athlete at the university.Following the inauguration, the athletes performed a march past. The overall trophy was won by College of Veterinary Science, Ludhiana. Avneet Singh Brar was declared the best male athlete, while Jaismeen Malhi was named the best female athlete.Punjab cabinet minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian was the chief guest. "Punjab is emerging as a sports hub in the country due to the state government's proactive efforts to strengthen sports culture at the grassroots level through the annual Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan initiative," he said."These games, conceived by chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, aim to promote sports culture among the youth," he said.
