‘People will vote for efforts of Modi, Yogi for Ayodhya’s transformation' says Lallu Singh
Riding on the Ram temple wave, BJP candidate from Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency, Lallu Singh, is confident of his victory. Elected twice in a row from Faizabad in 2014 and 2019, Singh is looking forward to a third term with the backing of ‘Ram bhakts’ from Ayodhya. In a conversation with Shalabh, he spoke about his party’s vision for the development of Ayodhya and the steps he would take to solve the problems
How confident are you about your hat-trick? Will your victory margin surpass previous records?
Anybody who has visited Ayodhya recently can experience the transformation that the city has undergone under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A magnificent Ram temple has come up and the entire constituency has been developed. I am sure people would support PM Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath again on the polling day.
Veteran SP leader Awadhesh Prasad is in the fray. Are you apprehensive about the poll outcome?
I do not want to comment on any candidate, particularly on Awadhesh ji, as he is known to me personally for a long period of time. We have stayed together in a locality in the past and had several discussions and debates over local and national issues. He is a seasoned politician .On June 4, we all will get to know who is enjoying people’s support.
Congress leaders have been highlighting the remarks you made during a public meeting in Milkipur where you said that two-third majority is needed to make changes in the Constitution? Were you referring to reservation for different caste groups?
That is an episode from the past which is being raked up by the Congress and opposition leaders to gain advantage. When Modi has already made his stand clear on the matter, what is the point of talking about it? BJP will continue to work for all castes and communities with complete conviction.
been carried out in the temple town, there are some issues that the local population is facing. Traders and families staying in Ramkot and nearby localities complain about increased police barricading, security checks and regulations on the movement of vehicles. At times people bringing back their children home from schools are stopped in hot weather. What are your plans to solve this problem?
I am aware about this issue and realise how serious it is for the residents. After elections, I would take up the issue with the local administration and evolve measures to ensure that people are not troubled and harassed. We must understand that there are teething troubles in every new system and regulation. Crowd management is important, but no inconvenience shall be caused to residents.
What is your vision for Ayodhya?
We are already working on the implementation of our 2047 Vision Plan and things are moving forward. Both Union and state govts are pitching in. As a local MP, my focus would be on improving civic amenities and facilities, efficient traffic and crowd management, and ensuring that devotees coming to the Ram temple have a pleasant experience during their visit.
