Kappalur fire: One more person dies

MADURAI

: The death toll in the

Kappalur fire accident

has risen to three after one more injured person R Vijayakumar, 35, succumbed at the Government

Rajaji Hospital

on Thursday.

The incident took place on Monday, when diesel and petrol pilfered from trucks, and stored in a container in a temporary shed in Kappalur went up in flames. The fire broke out when fire from gas stove spread to inflammable materials illegally hoarded in the shed.

While P Ganesan, 40, died on the spot, five people including the shed owner M Asaithambi, 50, Vijayakumar A Karthick, 24, V Arumugam, 66, and R Ravi were admitted in government

hospitals

for treatment. tnn
