Argument with friend proves fatal for Meerut lawyer
Meerut: After a heated verbal exchange between friends, Tarun Sharma, 35, the lawyer-son of ex-Bar president OP Sharma, was shot at point blank range, just outside his house, late Sunday. He was rushed to hospital, where he died early Monday.
The incident occurred at 11.00 pm on Sunday at Swami Para area of the city. Tarun Sharma had taken three bullets in the chest.

Two of the friends who were with him at the time have been arrested.
Station Head Officer Ajay Kumar said, “Tarun was having dinner with friends on Sunday night. He came out to see his friends off after dinner, when an argument broke out. Four of his friends, Vishal Singh, Atul Kumar, Nikhil and Lavinder Kumar were with him at the time. Lavinder Kumar shot him at point-blank range, and Tarun collapsed.”
Nikhil and Lavinder are in police custody. The man’s father, OP Sharma, lodged an FIR at 4.00 am on Monday. The two other friends who were present at the scene of the crime are absconding. Forensic teams rushed to the site of the crime on Monday to gather any clues.
