Doc, 3 aides held in sexual exploitation case

Bijnor: A 32-year-old doctor and three of his friends have been arrested after a 24-year-old Dalit woman accused him of sexually exploiting her on the pretext of marriage and forcing her to terminate her pregnancy.Police said the doctor is married and developed a relationship with the woman while she was working at his hospital. In her complaint, she alleged that he promised to marry her and later pressured her to undergo an abortion after she became pregnant.The woman also alleged that the doctor and his three friends forced her to embrace their religion.The case has drawn political attention, with a local MLA meeting the woman and raising concerns over the matter. He alleged that she was pressured to change her religion.Police arrested the main accused on June 3, while his three friends were arrested on Monday. Bijnor SP Abhishek Jha said, "During the investigation, the names of three additional accused surfaced. Acting on evidence collected during the probe, all three were arrested."
