Big B’s brother Ajitabh Bachchan looks for ‘stolen’ car, finds it was towed away
MUMBAI:
Police sources said the towing happened between 1pm and 3pm when Ajitabh (70) had gone to Hotel Ajanta for some official work. When he came out of the hotel around 3pm, Ajitabh realised that his car was missing.
He then took an autorickshaw to Santacruz police station and lodged a complaint around 3.15 pm.
“Ajitabh said he had parked his car on the other side of the road. Based on his information, a police team was sent to different spots. They also analysed the footage recorded by CCTV cameras at the hotel. Later, the team learnt that the car had been towed away by traffic police,” said an officer from Santacruz police station.
Subsequently, the cops accompanied him to the chowky of the Santacruz (west) traffic police, where he had to pay Rs 200 fine under the Motor Vehicles Act for parking in no-parking zone and obstructing flow of traffic.
Besides, Ajitabh had to pay the towing charges to get his vehicle back.
When TOI contacted Ajitabh, he refused to comment, saying he was driving and that unaware of the matter.
Deputy commissioner of police (zone IX) Paramjit Singh Dahiya confirmed the incident to TOI, but did not divulge details.
