Edu service programme to hear grievance

MUMBAI: On the lines of the ‘Government at Your Doorstep’ initiative, the state education department will organise an ‘education service’ programme every month to address grievances and complaints of students, parents, teachers and staff.

A government resolution issued on Friday stated that the education service program aims to make the education department efficient, effective and transparent. Parent activists and teachers have been complaining of large-scale corruption in the education department. Parent activists said complaints against schools with regard to fees and admissions are not addressed by the education officers. Teachers’ unions have complained of having to run from pillar to post to get their grievances resolved.
