MUMBAI: The manager of an animal shelter called YODA (Youth Organisation in Defence of Animals) at Khar was allegedly beaten up and molested by two men on Thursday because of the stench emanating from the shelter.

In her complaint, the manager said they abused her, tried to choke her and touched her inappropriately. "The accused, who are neighbours, often complained about the stench. On Thursday, while arguing about the smell, things got out of hand and the woman filed a molestation case. We arrested Altaf Shaikh, while Aslam Shaikh is missing," said a police officer.

(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
