Mumbai: A passenger was arrested by the Govt Railway Police (GRP) after he was caught by Central Railway ticket checkers for impersonating Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and producing a fake identity card. The accused was identified as MD Malang.“Central Railway’s travelling ticket inspectors, Shraddha Salunkhe and Ketki Kadam, apprehended an individual for travelling without a ticket and impersonating Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel on an AC local train between Mankhurd and Wadala Road stations on Monday,” said a statement issued by CR.Salunkhe and Kadam were working on an AC local during evening hours. When they asked the individual for a ticket, he claimed to be an RPF employee and produced an identity card. However, he failed to produce any travelling authority, and his identity card raised suspicion. He was unable to answer questions asked by the travelling ticket inspectors, which confirmed their doubts.He was handed over to the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus GRP, and a case was registered under Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita.
