Mumbai experienced heavy rainfall on Tuesday, causing flight disruptions at the city’s airport. A major landslide occurred around 12 pm on Monday in the Amba Ghat section connecting Kolhapur and Ratnagiri districts. Traffic on the Kolhapur–Ratnagiri route, a part of the Nagpur–Ratnagiri National Highway, was disrupted between Amba and Sangameshwar villages due to the landslide.
For about an hour, traffic through Amba Ghat was blocked before the highway police diverted vehicles via Anuskura Ghat. The Public Works Department from Ratnagiri has deployed two earth-moving machines at the site to clear the debris and restore movement. However, traffic through the Amba Ghat section is unlikely to resume before Monday night.
