Mumbai: Teenaged biker killed after skidding in oil patch

A teenaged college-goer was killed after his motorcycle skidded in a patch of oil on the New Link Road at Malad and he came under a truck on Monday. The Bangur Nagar police have arrested the truck driver on charges of negligence.

MUMBAI: A teenaged college-goer was killed after his motorcycle skidded in a patch of oil on New Link Road at Malad and he came under a truck on Monday. The Bangur Nagar police have arrested the truck driver on charges of negligence.
Imran Ahmed, 19, was a student of Ghanshyamdas Saraf College in Malad. He lived in Cama Estate, Goregaon, with his father.

The mishap took place around 5.55pm at the Infinity-II mall signal.
"Imran was wearing a helmet and was not speeding," a police officer said. "When Imran tried to overtake the truck moving ahead of him, his motorcycle skidded. The impact caused him to fall and he was crushed under the rear wheel of the truck. He was rushed to the Siddharth Hospital in Goregaon where doctors declared him dead," the officer said.
The truck driver, Anil Gaikwad, was booked under section 304 (A) of the IPC. He was produced before a magistrate court on Tuesday.
