MUMBAI: The crime branch on Friday arrested two drug-peddlers in Bandra-Kurla Complex and recovered 18-gram cocaine and two cellphones from them. An officer said they had received a tip-off that would come there to sell the drugs.
The arrested accused have been identified as Ibrahim Jaide, a Nigerian, and his Indian counterpart Yusuf Ali Khan, a Colaba-based businessman.
Both were produced in the court on Friday and remanded in police custody till October 9.
The officer said Jaide was not co-operating to the interrogator and was not disclosing them about his hideout. He told the police that he had been living on a footpath in south Mumbai for the past several months.
According to the police, Jaide would bring the drugs and Khan would help him sell them. The police are trying to dig out details about their contacts and tracing Jaide's visa and passport. They are also verifying the background of Khan, who imports dry fruits from Gulf countries.
