Santa Cruz bar looted, cashier killed

MUMBAI: The cashier of the Sangeet Bar and Restaurant at Santa Cruz (W) was found murdered on Tuesday morning. Cash amounting to Rs 3.10 lakh that was kept in the bar's cupboard was missing.
According to the police, the killer had attacked Uday Shetty on the head with blunt weapons. "The killer was well acquainted with the hotel and he used duplicate keys to open the cupboard and bar gate,'' the police said, suspecting an insider's hand in the killing.
Bar manager Ganesh Alva said five of the hotel staff, including the deceased, were sleeping inside the bar. When Alva opened the hotel's shutters on Tuesday, he saw Shetty's body in a pool of blood.
