was affected by a major fire that broke out late on Wednesday evening.
Anwar Ahmed, chief conservator of forests said the fire was at Damu Nagar, Kandivali. “Luckily it is on the forest side and not near the hutments else it would have been a bigger tragedy,” he said.
BMC
said one fire engine and one jumbo water tanker was sent after they received a call about a fire behind
Damn Nagar
in Lokhandwala around 9.10pm.
Anwar said the forest fire fighting team was joined by the fire brigade and the disaster management team. The fire was put out around 10.30pm.
