MADIKERI: Sharpening divisions in the Kodagu unit of the JD(S) has drawn sharp remarks from Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who expressed his dismay over the state of affairs of the party in the hill district at a meeting of the party convened in Somwarpet on Tuesday.
Prajwal's observations were made a day after Kodagu JD(S) president KM Ganesh issued a notice to party colleague Napanda Muthappa, seeking an explanation from the latter for campaigning as the party candidate in Madikeri constituency.

The JD(S) has announced its candidates for many of the assembly constituencies in the state, but is yet to finalise the names for the two seats in Kodagu.
However, Muthappa, who has printed and distributed a short booklet to the electorate in Madikeri, has already kicked off his campaign despite his candidature not having been finalised by the JD(S). In the notice issued to Muthappa, Ganesh highlighted the confusion that the former's actions had created within the district unit of the party.
Prajwal took umbrage at Ganesh's decision to urn the intra-party dispute into a public issue, and expressed disappointment with the Kodagu JD(S) chief's failure to take steps to resolve the matter on a party forum. While Ganesh was absent at the meeting in Somwarpet, Muthappa was in attendance. Prajwal is reported to have invited both Ganesh and Muthappa to a resort to resolve the issue before it goes out of hand.
