Monetary dispute leads to murder of property dealer

Nagpur: A property dealer was stabbed to death over an ongoing dispute over money. The cops have registered a case of murder, and started a search for the accused.

The deceased was identified as Parvez Shaikh (30), a resident of Kharbi, Roshanbagh, while the accused include Parvez Yakub Khan (28), a resident of Bhandewadi, Pardi, Sameer Khan and their four associates.

Police said Parvez Sheikh was involved in property deals, mostly relating to disputed lands. Some time back he sold a property along with Parvez Khan, whose commission was given to Parvez Khan. Parvez Sheikh was asking for his share of commission, but Khan had been evasive.

A few days back they had an argument over this. Parvez Sheikh was constantly asking Parvez Khan for his share and is learnt to have threatened him with dire consequences. Parvez Khan along with his friends planned to eliminate Parvez Sheikh.

On Tuesday night, he called Parvez Sheikh and asked him to come at Dawa Bazar near Agrasen Chowk to collect his share. Around 12.40am, Parvez Shaikh reached there on a two-wheeler along with his friend Qaleem Karim Shaikh (36).

At that time only Sameer was present with Parvez Khan. The conversation started regarding the transaction and soon the conversation turned heated. Before Sheikh could understand two youths came from behind, with one stabbing Parvez Sheikh in the neck with a big knife.

Before he could recover, another attacker stabbed him with another sharp object. Qalim ran down the streets of Dawa Bazaar towards the garden, while the profusely bleeding Parvez Sheikh ran to the other side of the road to save his life.

In front of New Era Trading Company, the accused surrounded Parvez Shaikh, where he succumbed to his stab injuries. Qalim informed the family members and the police about the incident.

The police have registered a case of murder and started searching for the accused. Others involved in the conspiracy will be known only after the arrest of Parvez Khan.
