Nagpur, Kamptee get land survey centres
Nagpur: In a major step towards transparent and people-friendly administration, Nagpur district's first-ever modern land survey centres on the lines of Setu Kendra were inaugurated in the city and Kamptee. These state-of-the-art centres, set up by the Land Records Department, will offer citizens a hassle-free and time-bound solution for all land-related services under one roof, at affordable govt-fixed rates. The new centres will help reduce dependence on private agents, end malpractices, and ensure faster delivery of documents, say officials.District superintendent of Land Records, Abhay Joshi, informed that citizens earlier submitted printed applications manually and waited for several days to get copies of land records, maps, or make modifications. Often, they were forced to approach private agents who charged hefty amounts for online applications."With the launch of these land survey centres, all such services will now be available online, on time, and at reasonable fees. This move will directly benefit citizens and reduce administrative delays," Joshi said.He further said that the initiative will not only provide immediate service facilities to the public but also reduce the workload on land record offices, enabling officials to focus on important fieldwork like surveys and measurements.A total of 30 such land survey centres have been launched across Maharashtra, including these two centres in Nagpur district. The remaining talukas in the district will also get similar centres soon, officials informed. The centres will offer multiple services like computerised property registration, e-survey maps in version 2.0, online modification applications, digitally signed records, scanned copies of maps, record extracts, Annexure A and B, Form 9 and 12 notices, application receipts, rejection or error letters, settlement letters, disputed record extracts, copies of appeal decisions, and more.Service rates have been fixed between Rs35 and Rs155, depending on the document. Applications for land measurement and record modifications will also be accepted at these centres for Rs25.
