Sanvi, Anudhya & Ojas in twin semis

Nagpur: Sanvi Ghate, Anudhya Satpute and Ojas Landge won their respective singles and doubles quarterfinals in contrasting fashion to move into the U-11, U-13 semifinals of the seven-day Vidarbha badminton tournament of the multisport festival at Dhanwate National College Hall on Sunday.In the U-13 girls singles quarterfinal, Sanvi outclassed Ishita Barapatre in straight games 15-6, 15-5 while Anudhya had to sweat hard to get the better of Harshika Sharma 16-14, 15-11.Similarly in the U-13 girls doubles section, Sanvi won her tie with ease and Anudhya played out a tough quarterfinal outing.In the first doubles quarterfinal, Sanvi paired up with Poorvi Malik to outplay Gautami Chaudhari and Nirmayi Kurutkar easily 15-6, 15-2. In another exciting quarterfinal, Anudhya partnered with Aaraddhya Sahare and rallied superbly to register a hard-fought victory over Anushree Nayse and Sanvi Manapure in three games. The duo of Anudhya and Aaraddhya won the clash after losing the first game 11-15, 15-10, 15-5.In the boys section, Ojas Landge too confirmed his berth in the semifinals of U-11 singles and U-13 doubles categories.
