Saw exploitation at Axis Bank too, management took action, says CM Devendra Fadnavis’s wife Amruta
NASHIK: Amruta Fadnavis, wife of CM Devendra Fadnavis, said on Friday that cases of alleged exploitation of women staff had taken place during her stint at Axis Bank.
She drew on her corporate experience to stress the need for prompt institutional response, while noting that Axis Bank management swiftly acted on complaints.
Amruta, who worked at the bank for nearly 15 years, underscored the importance of internal reporting mechanisms. “The role of whistleblower is important,” she said.
On the Nashik TCS case, Maharashtra CM’s wife Amruta Fadnavis said, “This is a serious matter and taking proper action is very important. The police are taking action in this matter. If you keep the children connected to your roots, then such cases will not occur."
No harassment or conversion plaint, says TCS
TCS CEO K. Krithivasan said on Friday that the company has formed an oversight panel headed by independent director Keki Mistry to review the ongoing probe at its Nashik unit, which is under scrutiny over allegations of sexual harassment and religious coercion involving women employees.
Krithivasan said that while detailed investigations are still underway, a preliminary review of systems and records has not found any complaints of the alleged nature filed through the company’s ethics or POSH channels.
He added that TCS has also roped in expert teams from Deloitte and legal firm Trilegal as independent advisors to assist the internal probe being led by president and COO Aarthi Subramanian.
Nashik court extends custodial remand of 2 accused
A magisterial court in Nashik on Thursday ordered custodial remand till April 18 of two accused linked to four of the nine cases of alleged sexual harassment and attempted religious conversion at the TCS Nashik office.
The duo was lodged in Nashik Road Central Prison under judicial custody after their police remand in two cases had ended.
The special investigation team (SIT), which is probing all nine cases, obtained their custody from jail on Wednesday through a production warrant in connection with a third case among the four registered against them. They were produced before the court on Thursday, which granted further custodial remand.
