Woman dies as truck hits scooter she was riding pillion in Nashik

Nashik: A 23-year-old woman, riding pillion on a scooter , died on Saturday morning after a dumper truck collided with the vehicle on ITI-Ambad Link Road near the Madhur Sweets intersection, close to CITU Bhavan."The deceased woman, identified as Payal Gosavi, was travelling to work around 10.30am when the accident occurred," said inspector Jagvendrasing Rajput, of the Ambad police station, where a case of causing death due to negligence was registered against the truck driver.According to eyewitnesses, the dumper was travelling from Shivshakti Chowk towards the CITU Bhavan when the driver lost control of the vehicle as it approached the intersection, which has a slope.The dumper continued its path and hit several other vehicles before finally crashing into a tree.Payal worked at a private office in Mahatma Nagar.
