Couple dies by suicide in Aurangabad village

Aurangabad: A newly married couple died by suicide at village Singhi Buzurg under the Rafiganj police station area on Sunday. The couple consumed poison over a domestic dispute. The deceased have been identified as Pintu Kumar and Sheela Kumari, police said.
According to reports, when family members noticed their deteriorating condition, they rushed them to the Rafiganj health centre. After initial treatment, doctors referred them to a higher medical facility for better care. However, Sheela succumbed to her condition on the way to Gaya, and shortly after, her husband Pintu also passed away.
Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the village and sent the bodies for postmortem at the Aurangabad Sadar Hospital. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
Police said that the couple had a love marriage in March 2024. Since their marriage, frequent disputes had been occurring between them, eventually escalating to the point where they allegedly decided to end their lives.
Superintendent of police, Ambrish Rahul, confirmed the incident, stating that the postmortem has been completed and the bodies have been handed over to the family.
