EOU warns students against cyberfrauds and fake offers
Patna: Ahead of the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination on June 21, the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police on Tuesday issued an advisory cautioning candidates against cyberfrauds, fake offers and misinformation campaigns. The EOU said cybercriminals may attempt to exploit candidates through phone calls, messaging applications and social media platforms by falsely claiming access to question papers, answer sheets or confidential examination-related information in exchange for money.Candidates have been advised not to engage with such offers and to immediately report suspicious communications to the nearest police station or cyber police station. The advisory also covers upcoming recruitment examinations being conducted by the Central Selection Board of Constables (CSBC) for the posts of excise constable, mobile squad constable and jail warden. These examinations are scheduled for June 14 and June 17.The EOU has also issued an alert regarding the Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission examination for the post of superintendent clerk in the Bihar Home Guard department, scheduled for June 10 and June 12.
Officials warned that fraudsters may try to cheat candidates by promising jobs, examination materials or other benefits in return for money. Such activities typically increase ahead of major competitive and recruitment examinations.Candidates have been advised not to share or forward unverified messages received through digital platforms. If any suspicious examination-related material circulates online, the public has been urged to immediately inform the police and share relevant links for verification and legal action. The EOU urged candidates to rely only on official notifications issued by examination authorities. Information regarding attempts to disrupt examinations or defraud candidates can be reported directly to the EOU in Patna.Authorities said strict vigilance is being maintained to ensure fair and transparent conduct of all upcoming examinations.
