Kerala basketballplayer hangs self

Patna: A 23-year-old basketball player, Lithara KC, from Kerala’s Kozhikode district committed suicide in her flat at Gandhi Nagar (road number 6) under Rajeev Nagar police station area in Patna on Tuesday. Her body was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her room.
Police sources said she was posted in DRM office at Danapur and had been living in Patna for the last six months.She was honoured by the East Central Railway on the International Women’s Day this year. A suicide note written in Malayalam was found in her room.
SHO incharge Shambhu Shankar Singh said she was found hanging from the noose made of a bedsheet. “Her family members have been informed about the incident. It was not clear when she committed suicide. When the family members could not reach the girl over phone, they contacted the landlord. After repeated calls, she did not answer. The door was locked from inside. The landlord then informed the police,” he said.
