10-year-old girl dies by suicide in Bhilai after scolding from brother
Raipur: In a shocking incident, a 10-year-old girl, a Class 4 student, allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Jamul, Bhilai, on March 19. Police said the girl took the step after being scolded by her 17-year-old brother.Jamul Station House Officer (SHO) Ramendra Singh said the incident occurred in Ward No. 5. The girl was reportedly talking to her father on the phone and did not hear her brother knocking on the door repeatedly. When she eventually opened the door, her brother reprimanded her for the delay. The SHO said there was no prior complaint of any hostility between the two. According to available information, a minor argument broke out between the siblings on Thursday when their parents went to work.Following the argument, the girl went to her room. Her brother, who was watching television in the hall, he later found her unconcious. She was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors declared her dead.Police have registered a case of unnatural death. When asked how such a thought could have come to her mind, Durg ASP Sukhnandan Rathore said there are many influences nowadays. She might have read about such things in newspapers or seen them in electronic media. He expressed concern over an incident like this, where a 10-year-old dies by suicide.
