Chhattisgarh: Nobel Laureate to address at Pt Jawaharlal Nehru National Education Conclave

RAIPUR: Nobel Laureate Dr Abhijeet Banerjee who has done remarkable work in the field of education and society will deliver a keynote address at Pt Jawaharlal Nehru National Education Conclave to be organized for the first time in the state.Banerjee will deliver a talk sharing research and experimental activities done by him on the innovative educational activities of the state and economics.The two-day-long conclave starting from Sunday aims to provide a platform for sharing innovations being done in various parts of the country in the field of school education.State school education joint secretary, Rajesh Singh Rana informed that preparations are in full swing by the school education department for the successful organization of this conclave. Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel will be the chief guest for the programme while former union cabinet minister Salman Khurshid will be special guest for the inaugural event.Innovative ideas adopted by the teachers of Chhattisgarh will be shared with educationists and teachers from other states so that they can adopt the same in their states as well. In addition, there will be presentations on related subjects including Reimagining School of Tomorrow, Vocational Education and Entrepreneurship Mindset for 21st Century, Future of Online Learning Building Back Better: Lessons from the Pandemic, Teachers as Leaders, Governance Reforms at Scale, and Strengthening Early Years Inclusion in Class Room.An exhibition will be held at the venue showcasing the innovative work done in the state in the field of education. Educationists and innovative teachers doing better work in the field of education from other states have been invited to display their innovative teaching methods.In the first session of the programme on Friday, the school education secretary will give a brief on the education scenario of the state. Besides, various innovative activities done by the teachers of Chhattisgarh in difficult circumstances will be shown through the film as well as the vision 2030 of schools will be discussed.Day two agenda of the conclave will include visits to some excellent schools, lessons learned from the corona pandemic in education, and large-scale governance reform programmes.
