RAIPUR: A special CBI court in Chhattisgarh on Saturday remanded till January three senior journalist Vinod Verma to the custody of CBI which is probing the alleged fake sex CD case, purportedly showing a minister, that went viral on October this year.
On completion of his judicial remand period, Verma was produced before special CBI court judge Neha Usendi, who remanded him to CBI custody.
CBI had sought 14 days custody of the journalist but the court granted custody till January 3.
After Chhattisgarh government handed over the probe to the central agency, the CBI had already questioned Vinod Verma for few hours at the Central prison in the state capital where he was in judicial remand ever since his arrest by the state police in connection with the sex CD row.
A CBI team had already stepped up probe by summoning and questioning a number of people, including a couple of journalists, to find out the source of the sleaze video clip and how it got circulated.
