Jadeja in police custody till May 1

Rajkot: A Bhavnagar court approved two more days of police remand of AAP youth wing leader and student activist Yuvrajsinh Jadeja and his brother-in-law Kanbha Gohil in the Rs one crore extortion case.
The police sought the duo’s remand on the grounds that they are yet to recover Rs 23 lakh of the total amount extorted from two masterminds in the dummy candidate racket. The other accused in this offence, Bipin Trivedi and Ghanshyam Ladhva, were sent to judicial custody.
The police also alleged that Kanbha gave Rs six lakh and Shivubha, Jadeja’s second brother-in-law gave him Rs three lakh.
Jadeja allegedly gave Rs six lakh from this money to a person in Dahegam who purchased a plot.
The police have to record his statement and cross-verify with Jadeja. tnn
