Minor gangraped by six in Kutch, three arrested

Rajkot: Three farm labourers were booked and a search is underway for three others in connection with the alleged gangrape of a minor girl in a village of Kutch district's Bhachau taluka.The girl, 15 years and six months, was acquainted with one of the accused as she worked in a field close to where he was employed. On Feb 5, he took her to a secluded girl on some pretext where five others were already present. They allegedly took turns to rape her. The girl's father lodged a complaint at the Samakhiyali police station on Feb 7 following which the police launched an immediate hunt.The accused threatened to kill her brother if she revealed the incident to anyone, said VK Gandhvi, inspector, Samakhiyali police station."Medical examination of the victim and the three arrested men was done, and evidence was collected from the spot with assistance of the Forensic Science Laboratory," he said. Kutch East Superintendent of Police (SP) Sagar Bagmar said the victim's statement will be recorded in court under section 183 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS)
