Ranchi: Police conducted a security check on the civil court premises on Saturday, after an email was sent to the court’s official email address on Feb 25 threatening cyanide gas and RDX explosion.
Police, along with bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS), examined parking places, corridors and other areas on the premises except the courtrooms. Sources said the sender spoke about a man,
Ajit Kumar, claiming he was not a terrorist and was wrongly implicated. On Feb 4, a similar mail was sent to the court’s email address, threatening to blow up the building. A security audit of the court was carried out for two days, but nothing was found.
In-charge of Kotwali police station
Ravi Kumar said, “Nothing suspicious was found on the court premises during checking on Saturday.”
