Release ₹779cr central grants for HP: Dy CM

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Mukesh Agnihotri met Union minister for Jal Shakti CR Patil in New Delhi on Monday to urge him to release Rs 779 crore of central grants meant for the state. Agnihotri told Patil that only Rs 137.48 crore has been released to Himachal Pradesh, which has hampered the progress of ongoing works. He sought the early release of the first and second tranches of first instalment of the Jal Jeevan Mission to ensure completion of schemes.Stressing the state govt is making every effort to provide improved irrigation facilities, he urged the Union minister for liberal grants. Almora DM orders probe into 150 Jal Jeevan Mission schemes

Following public complaints, Almora District Magistrate Alok Kumar Pandey launched an investigation into 150 completed Jal Jeevan Mission projects. Two-member teams will scrutinize each project, comparing work with detailed project reports and ensuring adherence to guidelines. Public participation will ensure transparency. Officials responsible for discrepancies will face strict action. The teams must submit a report within 15 days.

Haveri district achieves 3rd place for Jal Jeevan Mission scheme implementation

Haveri district has secured third place in Karnataka for implementing the Jal Jeevan Mission, providing piped water to households. Dharwad and Gadag lead the state, while Kolar lags significantly. Haveri has certified 303 of its 685 villages, exceeding 44% coverage. A revised certification process, requiring video confirmation from all villagers, is underway to ensure genuine water access.

Smart City to get Rs 5 crore grant from central govt

Panaji Smart City Development Limited secured a 5 crore grant under the CITIIS 2.0 program to bolster sustainable urban development. The initiative will establish a state climate center, data observatories, and implement data-driven planning. Crucially, it will also empower government officials with climate management skills.
